Reserve Cup Series 2025: Team Miami Dominates Opening Tournament
The Reserve Cup Series 2025 kicked off with a spectacular three-day event in Miami from January 23-25, marking the evolution of what was previously a single tournament into an expanded three-city series featuring the world’s elite padel players competing for an unprecedented $1.7 million prize pool.
Team Miami’s Commanding Victory
Team Miami, captained by acclaimed comedian Andrew Schulz, dominated the opening tournament with a decisive 15-3 victory over Team Reserve, led by five-time World Series Champion Derek Jeter. Series Expansion
Following the success of the inaugural Reserve Cup in 2024, the event has expanded into the Reserve Cup Series, which will continue with tournaments in Los Angeles and New York later in 2025, though specific dates remain to be announced. This expansion reflects padel’s growing popularity in the United States.
The event was led by Reserve Padel Founder Wayne Boich and Honorary Chairman and Co-Captain Jimmy Butler, who created the competition with the vision of offering an innovative format and unique experience for both players and spectators.
All matches were broadcast globally on DAZN as part of their freemium offering, available to all subscribers both live and on-demand, as well as streamed on the Reserve Cup Series YouTube channel.
As the padel world now turns its attention to the upcoming Premier Padel circuit, the Reserve Cup Series has set a high standard for what promises to be an exciting 2025 season.
